Saturday May 5th was the ever-excellent That Dapper Market http://www.facebook.com/ThatDapperMarket,organised by ‘Littlest Vintage’.
With some invaluable help from Lauren, we put together a Tidbitz stall, complete with vintage selections (and of course some Filthy Farmgirl). It was such a fun night; live music, talented artists and fellow stallholders. After joining forces with lovely Jane from Three Card Trick http://www.facebook.com/Three-Card-Trick our stall was a little hotspot and I’m so very pleased with our success… thanks to everyone for coming out, those who bought some new treasures, and those who organised - can’t wait for Dapper market three!

Filthy Farmgirl is a fantastic product that I discovered last year on a trip to Hawaii (I know – the tough life of a student hey?). Strolling with Max along the esplanade of Kona (Big Island) on Market Sunday, a group of young hipsters were flogging soaps. On closer inspection, the Filthy brand philosophy – Live Nakedly! – slapped us the face like a Filthy Cock (had to). Filthy Farmgirl soaps are 100% vegan - animal product free, and made with all natural ingredients, even organic when available. Living eco-friendly begins at home, and what better way to start your day than to rub-a-dub scrub yourself clean with a Filthy soap.
From the Filthy team:
Our Soap recipies are 100% Natural and Vegan Friendly!
Saponified Vegetable Oils (Coconut, Castor and Safflower)
Kosher Veggie Glycerin
Highest quality essential oils herbs and spices. (Organic when available)
Sorbital (natural thickener)
Purified Water
Sorbitan oleate (natural emulsifier)
Sodium hydroxide (natural saponifier)
Absolutely no detergents, surfactants, sulfates, artificial scents, colorizers, or petroleum products of any kind.
Our Labels are printed on 100% recycled paper.
We work hard to make sure every single bar of our soap is made with love and care, and our company is eco-friendly.
Soap is not just about getting clean, it’s about loving your body and the earth.
So get on board, and Live Nakedly! If you wish to purchase, come and visit That Dapper Market (Tuxedo Cat, North Tce) Saturday 5 May from 4pm… hurry, current stocks are depleting fast
Find your Filthy soaps from the lovely Jane at Three Card Trick… and a few other trinkets and treasures you might like.
Wonderful Lachie from Rip It Up fashion section was wandering by on the splendid Sunday of Gilles Street Markets… and like all before him, he couldn’t walk past the alluring charm of a Filthy Surfer (amongst others).

Enter the comp, or drop me a line - what would you label ‘Filthy’ and what flavour?

Was so fortunate to be a volunteer this year at the fan-tab-ulous WOMADadelaide festival at Botanic Park. Did I mention I was working, um, BACKSTAGE?! Although wheelin’ and dealin’ with artists and Adelaide’s premier celebrities (hm) is always fun, it was the amazing sights, sounds and silliness that had me hooked. The craft and marketplace, the food and of course, the music is truly magical - expensive, but worth it - especially if you don’t mind donating a few hours of work in return for unlimited entry…

So I bought a sewing machine. It took a while to find a rhythm and get into the groove, but I’ve been trialling a few projects…
It’s so much fun, I can’t wait to tackle bigger projects - namely all those 60’s and 70’s dress patterns I’ve been collecting that are gathering much dust…
